Mr. Jesse Walter Adams age 94 of Grafton WV, formerly of Waynesville, passed away January 10, 2014 at his home.

Jesse was born in Cherokee County to the late Walter and Elizabeth Mathis Adams.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Carrie Belle Buchanan Adams; a daughter Shirley Kittle; a grandchild; and was the last of eleven children.

Jesse loved his family dearly, and listening to preaching and gospel music became his favorite way to pass the time.

He was a member of Grafton Baptist Church, and a former member of Allen's Creek Baptist Church.

Jesse was a machinist and never had a job that he was afraid to tackle and conquer, he enjoyed fishing and garage sales became a passion.

Survivors include his wife Janice Litzinger Adams; daughters Frances Bishop and her husband David, Judy Karsten; son in law Ronnie Kittle; six step children; eight grandchildren; nineteen step-grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; nineteen step-great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 5PM until 8PM Tuesday at the funeral home and from 10AM until the hour of the service on Wednesday.

Funeral Services will be at 11AM Wednesday, January 15, 2014 in the chapel of Garrett Funeral Home with Rev. Eddie Deitz, Rev. Don Harward and Rev. Brian Buchanan officiating.

Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Park in Sylva.

The family would like to thank Hospice for their wonderful care, particularly his nurse Ben Fletcher and his "belly washer" Sabrina.
