Funeral services for Mrs. Vivian Peterson, age 94, of Clear Lake formerly of Watertown and Revillo, SD will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 9, 2010 in St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Clear Lake, SD. Rev. Hans Sacrison will officiate. Vivian died on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at the Deuel County Good Samaritan Center in Clear Lake, SD.

Burial will be at the Lakeview Cemetery in Clear Lake, SD. Honorary casket bearers will be: Susan Aamold, Kristine Heibult, Lesley Wolles, Rhonda Burling, Renee Zeilbeck, Chantel Carter and Kelcy Brendsel. Active casket bearers will be: Christopher Aamold, James Aamold, Matthew Aamold, Edward Aamold, Kirby Brendsel, Kory Brendsel, Lee Aamold and Larry Aamold, Jr. Music will be provided by Judy Oleson, pianist and Diane Brandt, soloist.

Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 8, 2010 in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Clear Lake, SD and will resume Saturday one hour before the service. The Houseman Funeral Home in Clear Lake, SD is in charge of the arrangements.

Vivian Lillian Peterson was born on January 11, 1916 to Elmer and Martha (Anderson) Olson in Dixon, NE. In 1928 she moved with her family to Clear Lake, SD where Vivian attended Sunnyside Country School thru the 8th grade. She continued her education in Clear Lake and graduated from the Clear Lake High School in 1934. Following high school, she worked for various neighbors as a hired girl helping with the children and doing house work.

Vivian was united in marriage to Clarence Aamold on March 20, 1936. They made their home near Altamont and Clear Lake where they farmed until 1945 when they purchased a farm near Revillo, SD. Clarence died in October of 1962. Vivian then moved into Clear Lake.

On November 19, 1965, Vivian married Thomas Peterson. They resided on a farm near Revillo until 1979 when they moved to Watertown, SD. Tom died in March of 1997. Vivian remained in Watertown until 1999 when she moved into the Hidewood Estates in Clear Lake. In 2000 Vivian entered the Deuel County Good Samaritan Center in Clear Lake where she resided until she passed away on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at the age of 94 years, 8 months and 24 days.

Vivian was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Clear Lake. She was active in the Zoar Mission Circle helping make quilts and soap for many years. Vivian was an avid reader and enjoyed dancing. During her marriage to Tom, they loved traveling and spending their winters in Arizona. They also enjoyed traveling throughout the United States by motor home as well as their trips to Alaska.

Vivian is preceded in death by her two husbands, Clarence Aamold and Tom Peterson; one granddaughter, Laurie Ellen Aamold; one son, Douglas Aamold; and three brothers: Joseph, Eben and Vincent Olson.

Vivian is lovingly remembered by her five children: Larry (Lee) Aamold of Portland, Or, David (Sharon) Aamold of Marietta, MN, Lowell (Elaine) Aamold of Elk River, MN, Carroll (Carol Jean) Aamold of Grand Junction, Co and Carolyn Brendsel of Woodbridge, VA; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one sister, Thyra Gustafson of Watertown, SD; many nieces and nephews.
