John Collins, 73, died at 2:55 a.m. Thursday, October 3, 1974 at the Gibson Community Hospital, Gibson City.

His funeral was at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Lamb Funeral Home, Gibson City with the Rev. James officiating. Burial was in Gibson City Cemetery.

James Dunham, Paul Dunham, Fred Belcher, Earl Stickles, Carl Raper and Clint Gibbens were pallbearers.

Mr. Collins was born May 10, 1901 in Jamestown, Ky. a son of William and Millie Franklin Collins. He married Pearl Brock, Dec. 24, 1923 At Foosland.

Surviving are his wife; a son Ray of Bedford, Indiana; a daughter Mrs. Bernadine Anderson of Vacaville, California; nine grand-children and seven great- grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Fannie Aaron, Columbia, Kentucky and Mrs.Owen Hawkins of Louisville, Kentucky; a brother Melvin Collins of Gibson City,Illinois.

Several brothers and sisters had preceded him in death.

He was a member of the Christian Church of Saybrook, Illinois, and he had lived in Saybrook for the past five years after moving from Gibson City. He was a foreman for the Wabash Railroad. Before his retirement he was employed as mill foreman at the Corn Belt Mills Co.
