Beverly Birdseye, 72, of Ames died of a stroke Thursday at Iowa Methodist Center in Des Moines. The body as cremated and memorial services will be at 2 p.m. today at Stevens Memorial Chapel in Ames, Burial of the cremains will be at a later date.
Mrs. Birdseye was born in Newton and had lived in Ames most of her life. She also had lived in Medford, Ore., six years. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Ted, two sons, Teddy of Rouge River, Ore., and Mark of Granby, Colo.; two daughters, Cynthia O'Neal of Boone and Lori Tryon of St. Louis; two brothers, Alan Abbott and Chuck Abbott,, both of Ames; two sisters, Betty Rullestad of Mount Ayr and Janet Bust of Gahanna, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends an hour prior to the time of services today at the funeral chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Homeward Hospice.
