Anna Marie Dick Abbott, 86 years of age, of West Science Hill, Kentucky, departed this life at Batesville, Indiana on Friday, February 28th, 2014.
Marie was born at Mt. Zion, Kentucky on November 10th, 1927, the third child of Fred Oscar and Flossie Doreen Hines Dick. Marie married Chester Ray Abbott on July 4th, 1959 and they celebrated their 50th anniversary shortly before his death in 2009.
Marie was a long-time member of West Science Hill Baptist Church and was active as secretary for many years. She graduated from Eubank High School. After graduation, she was employed at Palm Beach of Somerset for 42 years where she received her very first Employee of the Month award.
Marie was survived by one brother, Hollis Dick of Hamilton, Ohio; three sisters, Lena (and Donald) Wesley of West Chester, Ohio, Margaret (and Ralph) Hall of Lockland, Ohio, and Jean (and Billie) Baugh of Batesville, Indiana; numerous nephews and nieces; and a host of other family and friends who mourn her passing.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Fred Oscar Dick and Flossie Doreen Dick; her husband, Ray Abbott; three brothers, Royal Dick, Ellis Dick, and Larry Dick; and one sister, Violet Brooks.
Visitations were held after 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 4th, 2014 in the Chapel of the Morris & Hislope Funeral Home in Science Hill, Kentucky.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 5th, 2014 at the West Science Hill Baptist Church with Bro. T.J. Godbey officiating.
Burial followed in the West Science Hill Cemetery.
