A Chapel Service for Sidney Abbott, 84, Clinton resident will be held 1 p.m., Monday, September 16, 2013 in Kiesau Memorial Chapel officiated by Dale Nease and burial was in Clinton Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.

Sidney Eugene Abbott was born April 10, 1929 to Merlin and Lillian Abbott in Fairbury, Nebraska, and passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2013 in Methodist Health Care Center in Clinton, Oklahoma.

Mr. Abbott was raised in Oxford, Nebraska and graduated from high school in 1947. He was married to Mary Keezer in 1950 in Oxford, Neb. He has done factory work most of his adult life, working in turkey processing plant, beef slaughter house, food processing plant, diamond mines as well as working for Firestone Tires. He made his homes in Nebraska, California, New Mexico, Arkansas, and Tennessee. He moved to Oklahoma and settled Clinton, Oklahoma in 2004 to be close to his children.

He loved the outdoors, fishing, playing on his pontoon boat and working in his garden.

He is preceded in death by his parents, a son, Gary Abbott, two brothers, Wayne Abbott and Ralph Abbott and a great-grandchild, Dakota.

He is survived by a daughter, Dixie Isaac and husband, Dennis, Clinton and three sons, Tony Abbott and wife, Donna, Covington, GA, Merlin Scott Abbott, Omaha, NE and Donnie Abbott, Eugene, OR.
He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
