MARY ABBOTT BALES
Mary Abbott Bales, born July 18, 1841, died August 1, 1921, aged 80 years and 18 days.
She was born in Ripley** County, Ohio and at an early age moved to Greensburg, Ind., and from there to a farm, four miles north of Winchester.
She was a Methodist and at one time was a member of the Kiser Chapel, north of Winchester.
She was united in marriage to Joel F. Bales March 21, 1871, and to this union were born four children, two of which have preceded her in death.
She leaves to mourn their loss, her husband, Joel F. Bales; two sons, Henry Bales of Winchester and Frank Bales of Parker, Ind.; three sisters, Mrs. Margaret Hull , of Winchester, Ind., Mrs. Elizabeth Taylor of Huntington, W. Va., and Mrs. Helen Jones of Ft. Wayne, Ind., and one brother, Will Abbott of Winchester; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
She was a good mother and a kind friend having always a good word for every one and her departure will be mourned by many.
Funeral services at White River, Aug. 3, 1921, at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Olynthus Cox.
