Jacob C. Abbe Jr., 80, of Caro, Tuscola County, passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at Covenant Hospital in Saginaw.
He was born March 21, 1931 [sic] in Oliver Township, son of the late Jacob and Rose (Pincombe) Abbe.
Sadly, his Mother Rose, died shortly after his birth and he was raised in the home of the late Ezra and Hattie (Diebel) Abbe on Kilmangh Road in Huron County. Jake attended the Flowing Well School south of Elkton and served two years in the U.S. Army in Germany. He worked in Detroit and farmed for a number of years.
He is survived by daughter, Cindy, and granddaughter of Florida; brothers, Daniel R. (Barbara) Abbe of Elkton and [step-brother] Glen L. (Hazel) Abbe of Owendale; a [step-]sister and brother-in-law, Iva and Elmer Andrews of Owendale; sister-in-law, Genevive Abbe of Owendale and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded him in death are two sisters, Eva (Abbe) Sheufelt of Owendale and [step-sister] Velma (Abbe) Severn of Royal Oak; [step-]brother, John S. Abbe of Owendale; two brothers-in-law, Arthur Sheufelt of Owendale and Clarence Severn of Royal Oak; one sister-in-law, Rose Abbe.
