Edward Pasture "Ed" King, 70, died Friday, December 25, 2009. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 28, 2009 at the Hobgood United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Hobgood Cemetery. The Reverend Forrest Smith and the Reverend Tommy King will be presiding. Ed is survived by his wife, Betty Baker "Bet" King; son, Wayne King and wife Trish of Hobgood; sisters, Ellen Whitfield of Chesapeake, VA, Phoebe Bagan of Hobgood, Doris Leonard and husband Robert of Rocky Mount, and Barbara Smith and husband Randy of Scotland Neck; brothers, Virgil "Bud" King of Hobgood, Alvin King and wife Lou of Chesapeake, VA, and Jerry King and wife Joyce of Greenville; grandson, Brookes King and wife Brandy of Hobgood; two great-grandchildren, Alyssa King and Ethan King; and many special nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday, December 27, 2009 at Letchworth Funeral Home in Scotland Neck.
