Chester H. Abeling, 42, formerly of Salt Lake City, who was killed in the explosion of an oil flotation plant at the Bully Hill smelter, near Redding, Cal., has relatives and friends in Portland. His body will be brought here for burial, and his widow and sons are expected to arrive here Saturday. Mr. Abeling was a mining engineer and had lived in Spokane, Wash., and Berke and Moscow, Idaho. He had been employed in California only a month and was superintendent of the plant. Relatives in Portland are O. G. Edwards and J. W. Edwards, brothers-in-law; Jonathan Edwards, his father-in-law and Mrs. M. R. Stewart, his sister-in-law. The funeral probably will be held Monday.
