E. Max Absher, age 73, of Blowing Rock and formerly of Alleghany County, died Friday, Dec. 28, 2007 at Blowing Rock Hospital.
He was the son of the late Elbert and Sallie Grubb Absher. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Absher; and three brothers, Ray Absher, Larry Absher and John Absher.
He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Sonya and Matthew Johnson of Wilmington; a son and daughter-in-law, Chip and Rosa Absher of Lenoir; and a brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Ruth Absher of Wytheville, Va.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, Dec. 31 at Mount Zion United Methodist Church with burial in the church cemetery.
