Neva McClaflin

Neva McClaflin, 80, Tower City, died Sunday, Nov. 7, 1999, at her residence.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Paul's Luther an Church, Tower City, with Rev. Paul Brown officiating.

A prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Peterson-Johnson-Schuldt Funeral Home. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Valley City.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home and one hour before services in the church Thursday morning.

Neva Ann Fairfield was born Dec. 26, 1919, at Eldridge, the daughter of James and Myrtle (Olson) Fairfield. She moved with her family at a young age to a farm near Oriska where she grew up and attended school.

Neva married Glenn McClaflin June 11, 1938, in Valley City. The couple farmed in the Oriska and Tower City area for 53 years. They continued to make their home on the farm until Glenn's death on March 30, 1996. Neva then moved to Tower city where she made her home. She was an active member of the Tower City Senior Citizens.

Survivors are four sons, Raymond (Luetta), Valley City; and Rick (Elizabeth), Gary (Susan) and Randy (Joyce), all Tower City; two daughters, Joyce (Dwain) Miller, Vancouver, Wash., and Susan (Dave) Middaugh, Fargo; a brother, Russell (Vera) Fairfield, Big Lake, Alaska; two sisters, Eunice Calhoun, Menomonie, Wis., and Wilma Anderson, Fargo; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Neva was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three daughters, four brothers and a sister.

Arrangements are by the Peterson-Johnson-Schuldt Funeral Home.
