David Ronald Abbott of Ooltewah, Tenn., died Thursday, Dec. 7. He was 31.

He had been a resident of this area for 15 years, coming from middle Tennessee. He was a member of Wauhatchie United Methodist Church.

Survivors include parents, Herbert Ronald and Martha Ann Wampler Abbott of Rossville; sister, Melanie Elizabeth (Christian) Royse of Chattanooga, Tenn.; brother, William Thomas (Amy) Abbott of Kettering, Ohio; nieces, Ally Reed and Zoey Abbott; nephews, Andy Reed and Christian Royse II.

Memorial services: Saturday, Dec. 9, at 2 p.m. at Fort Oglethorpe United Methodist Church with Rev. Mark Davis officiating. Visitation: Saturday from noon to 2 p.m. at Fort Oglethorpe United Methodist Church. Honorary pallbearers: Staff of Open Arms Health Care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mission Project, church building fund, or Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund. Condolences may be sent at www.heritagefh.com.
