Mr. Clarence "Stan" Russell, resident of Trinity, age 71, went home to be with the Lord on May 9, 2014, at Hospice House of Randolph County. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and uncle.
Mr. Russell was born October 7, 1942 in Troy, NC a son to the late E.B. and Lucille Russell. A resident of this area all of his life, he retired after more than 50 years and more than 6 million safe, accident-free miles as a long distance truck driver. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Archdale and the Willing Workers Sunday School class. He was member # 732 of the Bush Hill Masonic Lodge.
In 1963 he married the former Donna Reed Parris who survives of the home. He has one sister, Nancy Gordon Russell of Surfside Beach, S.C.
Also surviving are 3 daughters: Lisa Russell Motley and husband Scott of Archdale; Angela Russell Barrow and husband Todd of Trinity; and Amy Russell Walker and husband Mark, also of Trinity. Six grandchildren: Tyler Motley and wife, Paige; Jacob Motley, Bryant and Benjamin Walker and Claire and Caitlyn Barrow. Also one great grandchild, Jackson Motley. Stan also has several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life service will be held at 3:00 pm on Monday, May 12, 2014 in the chapel of Cumby Funeral Service in Archdale. Pastors Robert Ferguson and Stuart Noell will be officiating. Entombment will follow in the Floral Garden Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be held on Monday from 1:00 pm until the hour of the service.
