Mr. Diebold worked for National Homes until retiring on disability in November 1980. He was a charter member of Christ United Methodist Church, a member of American Legion Post 492, and the Moose Lodge, and was a paratrooper in the Army.
Surviving are two sons, Thomas Diebold of Brandon, FL, and Jack "Ed" Diebold of Lafayette; three daughters, Pamela Keiter, Cathy (Mrs. Ron) Abbott, both of Lafayette, and Sandy (Mrs. Jim) Phillips of Hermantown, MN; a brother, Martin Diebold of Michigan; a sister, Mary Hodge of Hesperia, MI; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by brothers Gene, Paul and Bill Diebold. Service Oct. 12, Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, Revs. Craig LaSuer and Herb Wingard officiating; internment Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
