Jack A. Diebold, 71, died at 1:13 AM Saturday, Oct. 9, 1999, in St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Born Oct. 8, 1928, in South Haven, MI, he had lived in the Lafayette area 26 years, coming from Duluth, MN. He married Goldie M. Nichols on June 30, 1948, in Crawfordsville; she died Feb. 27, 1996.

Mr. Diebold worked for National Homes until retiring on disability in November 1980. He was a charter member of Christ United Methodist Church, a member of American Legion Post 492, and the Moose Lodge, and was a paratrooper in the Army.

Surviving are two sons, Thomas Diebold of Brandon, FL, and Jack "Ed" Diebold of Lafayette; three daughters, Pamela Keiter, Cathy (Mrs. Ron) Abbott, both of Lafayette, and Sandy (Mrs. Jim) Phillips of Hermantown, MN; a brother, Martin Diebold of Michigan; a sister, Mary Hodge of Hesperia, MI; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by brothers Gene, Paul and Bill Diebold. Service Oct. 12, Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, Revs. Craig LaSuer and Herb Wingard officiating; internment Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
