ROSS ABEL DROPS DEAD ON HIS FARM NEAR SPENCERVILLE

Funeral services for the late Ross Abel, a prominent resident of near Spencerville, and former trustee of Newville township, will be held at 2:00 o'clock CST on Thursday afternoon at the home. Burial will be made in White City cemetery at Spencerville.

Mr. Abel, aged fifty-eight years, died suddenly about 6 o'clock Monday evening from a ruptured blood vessel.

About 5:30 o'clock when he went to feed the swine Mr. Abel discovered they had broken out and had gone to the woods. Mrs. Abel accompanied her husband to help drive the hogs back. Both ran, Mrs. Abel being about three rods behind her husband. Mr. Abel fell over. At the time, Mrs. Abel thought her husband had stumbled over some weeds and she jokingly remarked about his awkwardness. When she reached Mr. Abel's side he breathed a few times and expired.

Before taking up farming Mr. Abel taught school in Auburn about eighteen years ago. He also taught in Newville township and Allen county.

He is survived by his widow and one sister. Mrs. Philip Carper of Jackson township.
