Chloe Irene Absher, age 72, of Piney Creek, died Thursday, Dec. 16, 2010 at her home.
She was the widow of Jimmy Posey Absher.
She was born Jan. 9, 1938 in Piney Creek to Mastin and Lela Burchett Jones.
She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Bobby Absher of Piney Creek and Donald and Netha Absher of Elk Creek, Va.; two sisters, Lavone Bell of Mouth of Wilson, Va. and Hazel Black of Sparta; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Ralph Jones of Sparta and Cecil and Loraine Jones of Mount Airy; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, Dec. 18 at New Home Freewill Baptist Church in Piney Creek with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Frank Dixon and the Rev. Eric Miller officiated.
