Booneville, KY- Floyd Sandlin, age 80, husband of Martha (Allen) Sandlin, passed away Sunday, May 18, 2014 at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center in Lexington, KY.
Floyd was born in Buckhorn, KY, on February 1, 1934, a son of the late Charlie and Pairlee (Baker) Sandlin. He was a truck driver, retiring from Allied Van Line.
He is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Martha, 5 sons; David Lee Sandlin and Benny Ray Sandlin both of Cincinnati, OH, Ricky Lee (Elaine) Sandlin of West Virginia, Steven Ray (Angie) Sandlin of Middletown, OH and Brandon (Eva) Harrison of Bowling Green, KY, 8 daughters; Connie Mae ( Claude), Saundra Kay Sandlin, Tina (the late Barney) Ferguson all of Cincinnati, OH, Melissa (Brian) Lancaster of Florida, Patricia (Kenny) Turner of Middletown, OH, Kathy Barger and Loretta Goodpaster both of Bowling Green, KY and Ponda Bennett of Brownsville, KY, 3 sisters; Martha Wells, Connie Delph and Amanda Turner all of Middletown, OH. He was also blessed many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and many other loving family members and friends.
Along with his parents Floyd was preceded in death by 3 sons; Ronnie Sandlin, Ricky Rice and Raymond Jr. Rice, 2 daughters; Deborah Sandlin and Christine Sandlin and 3 brothers; Effer Sandlin, Letcher Sandlin and Preston Sandlin.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 22, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the Booneville Funeral Home with Reverend Leslie Abner officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:00 until time of funeral service. Floyd will be laid to rest in the Sandlin Family Cemetery in the Lower Buffalo Community of Booneville, KY. The Booneville Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
