Ole Aasen died Friday evening at 8 o'clock at the City Hospital in Minneapolis of pneumonia resulting from influenza. He had been ill about a week. The body was shipped here Monday and funeral services were held yesterday at the Fron cemetery, Rev. G. O. Forde officiating. He was laid to rest beside the body of his wife who died in 1912.
Ole T. Aasen was born on a farm called Aasen in Flaa Ness Prestijal, Halingdahl, Norway, on Dec. 18, 1873, and came to this country with his parents in 1884.
He worked on various arms around here as a boy and at the age of 21 commenced to farm for himself near the New Prairie station, and latter had a farm north of the village. In 1904 he entered the mail service as carrier and continued in that capacity until about a year ago when he went to Hibbing where he managed an oil station for the Standard Oil Company for a time. He then went to his farm near Elk River where he erected some buildings and then went to Minneapolis last summer to work in an elevator where he continued to work until taken ill.
