Born in Kalamazoo, Michigan, April 21, 1951, to John and Marge (Burns) Aalbregtse, Randy graduated from Marshall High School in Marshall, Michigan in 1969, where he was an outstanding athlete in basketball, baseball, tennis, football and cross country. Randy continued to play basketball at Murray State University in Kentucky, later transferring to Taylor University in Upland, Indiana where he played basketball, baseball, football and tennis and graduated in 1974 with a B.S. in Education. In 1978 he was awarded a Master's Degree from St. Francis College in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Randy served as a high school teacher and coach in various northern Indiana school districts for thirty-two years, including East Noble in Kendallville from 1974-1980, Prairie Heights in Orland from 1980-1987, De Kalb in Auburn from 1987-1989 and Wawasee in Syracuse from 1989 until 2006.
Randy was preceded in death by a brother Kevin in 2005, his father John J. in 2007 and his first wife Jackie in 2007.
Known for his hearty and exhilarating laugh, wonderful sense of humor and quick wit, Randy will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
A Celebration Of Life will be held for Randy at the Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home, 723 US27 N., Marshall, MI 49068, on Saturday, October 27 at 2PM. Fellowship with family and friends will follow directly afterwards in the funeral home's reception hall.
