Robert was the son the late Steve Marcum and Lois Mae Walden Acosta.

Surviving are his wife, Joan Acosta; son, Fred Acosta of Maiden; two daughters, Michele McCreary of Newton, and Cozette Acosta Smith of Green Valley, Ariz.; a brother, Jim Acosta of Fresno, Calif.; two sisters, Frances Del Ray of San Jose, Calif., and Shirley Cavella, of Fresno, Calif.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
