Ollie Mae Dezern Cole Wheeler, 84, of Hillsborough, died Tuesday, February 14, 2006, at Alamance Regional Hospital. Born in Durham County, she was the daughter of the late Grover and Florence Bowman Dezern and wife of the late James C. Wheeler and the late H. Montague Cole. Mrs. Wheeler retired from Piedmont Packing Company and was a member of Welcome Baptist Church.
Mrs. Wheeler is survived by her children, Edna Robinson, (D. Carlton) and Florence Laws (Robert), both of Rougemont, Jesse Cole (Wanda), Faye Rhodes (John), Kaye Byrd (the late Roger Lee Byrd Sr.), Betty Turner (Earl), and Jackie Dunagin (Timmy), all of Hillsborough; one step-son, Russell Wheeler (Janet), of Efland; and one deceased step-son, Randy Wheeler, 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
