Mrs. H. P. Kilbourne Expires at Taberg
Taberg – Funeral services for Mrs. Helen P. Kilbourn, 96, who died at her home here yesterday, Feb. 3, 1937, will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the M. E. Church, the Rev. R. C. Robinson, officiating.
Helen P. Robbins was born in McConnellsville, Feb. 12, 1849, daughter of the late George and Delight Cleveland Robbins. Her mother was a second cousin of Grover Cleveland, twice president of the United States. Mrs. Kilbourn was married at McConnellsville in 1839 to George H. Kilbourn who died in 1907.
She was a charter member of the Ladies Aid Society of the Methodist Church and was a charter member of the Methodist Church Society.
Mrs. Kilbourn accompanied her father of the first trip of a train on the Rome, Watertown & Ogdensburg through Blossvale from Rome to Watertown. Mrs. Kilbourn was also a member of Haliard Post Auxiliary of the GAR, Mr. Kilbourn having served in the Civil War after their marriage.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. William Drummond of New London; three sons, Squire Kilbourn of Ilion, Colonel C. and H. Delos Kilbourn of Taberg; none grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and one nephew, Charles Gibbons of McConnellsville.
