He was born in Welsh, Louisiana and was a Veteran who served our Country in the US Navy during WWII. Bill was a member of the First United Methodist Church and a proprietor of Abell and Son Inc. Bill was a part of several clubs including the American Legion Post #283 (Martin and Shipp Post), Welsh Rotary club, Serra Club and he was also a Mason.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years of marriage; one son and three daughters. Bill had eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Ludia Abell, his brother Dr. Raymond Abell, sister Esther Jean Ezell and his daughter, Jan Abell.
Funeral Service will be at 11:00am, Saturday, August 30, 2014 at First United Methodist Church in Welsh, LA. The Visitation will be Friday from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at Hixson Funeral Home of Welsh and will resume Saturday at 9:00am until time of service. Burial will be at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Mausoleum.
