Mrs. Brooks was born on August 26, 1919 in Monroe County Georgia the daughter of the late Charles Newton and Mamie McElroy Adams. She was a Homemaker, former school teacher at Shellman Grammar School, a graduate of Georgia Southern College for Women in Milledgeville and a member of the Shellman First Baptist Church where she served as a former Sunday School teacher. She was preceded in death by her parents, her 1st husband, J. R. "Jim" Curry, a grandson, Charles "Chuck" Curry, a brother, Charles M. Adams and 2 sisters, Norma A. Brown and Jean A. Easom.
Survivors include her husband, Ennis Brooks, of Albany, 3 Sons, Jimmy Curry and his wife Martha of Shellman, Charlie Curry and his wife Lorriane of Shellman, Shannon Curry of Albany, 10 Grandchildren, 17 Great Grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 16th from 9:30 until 10:30 AM in the Bethea Building of the Shellman First Baptist Church and also at the home of Jimmy and Martha Curry in Shellman.
