She was born on Dec. 6, 1923, in Timbo, Ark., to Robert Ingram and Rose Coble Ingram.
Mrs. Thayer had been a Grants resident since 1959. She was a homemaker most of her life and was a seamstress who enjoyed quilting, sewing and needlepoint. She took pleasure in arts and crafts. She was a beloved mother whose family remembers her as being a perfectionist who will be dearly missed by the friends and family she left behind.
Mrs. Thayer is survived by her son Darrell Adams and wife Bonnie of Prewitt; her daughter Judy Adams of Garden Grove, Calif.; her brother Ramond Ingram of Des Arc, Ark.; her sister Pansy Helgin of Conway, Ark.; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husband of many years Marvin "Red" Thayer (Marriage: June 1948 • Dotsero, Eagle, Colorado); her parents Robert Ingram and Rose Coble Ingram; her son James Adams; two brothers; six sisters; one grandson and one granddaughter.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. tonight, Tuesday, March 14, at Grants Mortuary and from 10 to 10:45 a.m. tomorrow, Wednesday, March 15, at First Methodist Church, 510 N. First Street, Grants. Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 15, at First United Methodist Church with Pastor Reuben Thomas officiating. Graveside services and interment will follow at Grants Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be John Lester, Tom Adams, Brad Latham, Charles Clark, Don Sanchez and Ronald Morris. Honorary pallbearers will include Jason Adams, Jerry Talley and Reuben Thomas.
Grants Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
