Emil P. Aagaard
Cedar Falls--Services for Emil P. Aagaard, 81, of Lake Preston, S.D., will be 2 p.m Saturday at the First United Methodist Church with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. He died at 9:20 a.m. Wednesday in Waverly.
He was born June 27, 1893, in Denmark, the son of Jens J. and Dorothea Sorensen Aagaard. He married Dagmar Hansen Aug. 14, 1913, in Clarksville and she preceded him in death in 1930. He then married Amy E. Holmes Feb. 7, 1948, in Cedar Falls and she preceded him in death in December of 1969. He then married Olive Kazmerzak Sept. 8, 1973, in Red Oak.
Survivors include his wife, six stepsons, Dale R. Holmes and 603 Walnut St., Wayne L. Holmes of 2503 Grove St., Glen Holmes of 1211 W. 19th St., Donald Holmes of Vinton, Larry Kazmerzak of Red Oak and Richard Kazmerzak of Virginia Beach, Va.; a daughter, Mrs. Rex Batterson of Kimallton; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Jack Mithun of Minneapolis, Minn., Mrs. Keith Lang of Hopkins, and Mrs. Jeanne Mead of Cleveland, Ohio.
He farmed in the Dike and New Hartford area for many years as well as in the Emmett County area.
He worked at Hawkeye Steel in Waterloo for a number of years and for the Cedar Falls street department until his retirement in 1965.
Friends may call at the Dahl-VanHove-Schoof Funeral Home until 11 a.m. Saturday and from noon until service time at the church.
