Mrs. Berdie B. Hughes, 71, of 840 Anniston, died Friday following a sudden illness.
Mrs. Hughes had been a resident of Shreveport for most of her life. She was a member of the Broadmoor Methodist Church and the senior citizens' bowling league and was a charter member of the Elks Auxiliary.
She is survived by four sons, Cmdr. (Ret.) Albert G. Hughes, David L. Hughes, John A. Hughes and Charles A. Hughes, all of Shreveport; one daughter, Mrs. Doris Moseley of Shreveport; one sister, Mrs. Joe Sherman of Shreveport; one brother, Edward Brantes of Camden, Ark.; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are scheduled at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Kilpatrick, pastor of Broadmoor Methodist, officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be William H. Parker, Carl Black, T. H. Giles, L. M. LeVasseur, R. W. Emery and Thomas Giles.
