Eileen Brooks
Eileen Mae Brooks, 86, a resident of Klamath Falls, passed away peacefully March 26, 2014, with her loving family by her side.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 5, in First Presbyterian Church.

Eileen was born April 26, 1927, in Weiser, Idaho, to Loy and Mabel Gentry. She graduated from Weiser High School in 1945 and worked as a nurse's aide in the Weiser hospital during World War II. She was married to Melvin Brooks in the Methodist Church in Payette, Idaho, Dec. 22, 1946. While Mel was in college, the couple lived in Moscow, Idaho, and had two children, Kathy in 1948, and Mark in 1950. Soon after, the couple moved to Oregon and lived in Bly, Merrill, and Malin while Mel was a teacher and principal. During that time, Eileen worked as a cook in the school cafeterias. She also served as secretary in Bly, Malin, and Henley Junior High schools for 22 years, retiring in 1985. After retirement, the couple would spend winters for 20 years in Arizona, where she leaves behind many friends.

Eileen is survived by her husband, Melvin Brooks; son, Mark Brooks; daughter Kathy Frederick; grandchildren Stacy Denham, Randy Brooks, Shelly Hollis, and Wendy Berkebile; great-grandchildren, Tiffany Mauch and Jessica Hollis; great-great-grandson, Brody Mauch; brother and sister-in-law, Ron and Pat Gentry; sister, Betty Aasa; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Duane and Harry Gentry.
