Laura, the 2nd child & only daughter of Elizabeth, spent most of her life in Pocatello. She attended the Bonneville School & the Academy of Idaho, now Idaho State University.
For many years she worked in the family store as a clerk & bookkeeper. She was an active [LDS] church worker, particularly in the Mutual Improvement Association & musical activities. Laura was a talented musician. She had a good voice for singing & enjoyed participating in amateur dramatics. She was a capable pianist & enjoyed playing both popular & semi-classical music.
Laura had a pleasant, outgoing personality. She was popular with the younger set & also with more mature people. In 1915 she was the top winner for a trip sponsored by the Pocatello Tribune for a group of Pocatello girls representing the town at the Panama Pacific Exposition in California.
On Feb 12, 1916, she married Frank A. Thacker of Garden Creek, where they resided for about 2 years. She was a victim of the 1918 influenza epidemic at the age of 29. She had no children at the time of her death.
