Adolph C. Alonzo, born November 25, 1944 to Francisco and Consuelo Alonzo in Sinton, Texas passed away on October 13, 2014 in Houston, Texas.

A.C. Alonzo married his beloved wife, Bonnie on September 8, 1978. They were married for almost 30 years before her passing.

A.C. Alonzo is survived by brother Martin Bustamante of Grand Prairie, Texas and sister and brother-in-law, Rosie and Albert Franco, Jr. of Calallen, Texas. Special niece Pamela Krog and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews who loved him very much. Special friend Marie Guidry.

A.C. Alonzo was preceded in death by his parents, Francisco and Consuelo Alonzo of Sinton, Texas; brothers, Joe C. Alonzo of Sinton, Texas, Alfredo Alonzo of Flint, Michigan and sister, Elvira Medina of Corpus Christi, Texas.

A.C. Alonzo graduated from Sinton High School, Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas and The University of Houston in Clear Lake City, Texas. A.C. is a veteran who served in the U.S. Army. A.C later joined the Houston Police Department and graduated from the Houston Police Academy-Class 51and began his career on August 23, 1971.

A.C retired on January 20, 2001 after serving 29 years. Throughout his career, A.C. worked in numerous Department Divisions including Jail, Narcotics, Homicide, Internal Affairs and Burglary and Theft. A.C. received numerous Letters of Commendation from supervisors, co-workers, citizens and the Los Angeles Police Department, the highest one being the Chief’s Commendation from Chief Lee P. Brown.

After his retirement from the Houston Police Department, A.C and Bonnie moved to Kenedy, Texas where they made numerous friends. A.C. worked as the Chief of the Kenedy Police Department and then worked with the Karnes County Sheriff’s Department.

A.C. was a gentle caring person who believed in helping others and involved himself with the community. A.C is a member of the Kenedy Rotary Club and the Houston Police Retired Officers Association.

Family will begin receiving friends at 9:00 a.m., Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Eckols Funeral Chapel in Kenedy, Texas with a Memorial Service to follow at 10:00 a.m.
