Claude L. Abbott, 81 / Hartford City - Claude L. Abbott, 81, passed away Saturday afternoon, March 19, 2005, at Bluffton Regional Medical Center after an extended illness.
Claude was born in Henry County on January 25, 1924 to Claude and Iva Abbott.
He was retired from Westinghouse after 13 years of service and had worked in construction after retirement. He was a member of the Montpelier Lions Club.
Claude leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Edna Opal, Hartford City; a daughter, Carole Rudo (husband: Don), Zionsville; a son, Russell Abbott, Hartford City; a grandson, Jason Abbott, Hartford City; and a half-brother, Carl Phenis, Goshen.
Mr. Abbott was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Claudia King; a sister, Louise Mason; a half-sister; and his step-father, Alton Phenis.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 North State Road 3, Muncie. Friends may greet the family from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be conducted at Mt. Tabor Cemetery.
