Final rites for Mrs. Virginia
Franklin, 56, of Rt. 6, Monticello,
were Sunday at Miller Funeral
Home in Monticello. The Rev.
Leon Willoughby officiated and
burial was in Riverview Cemetery.
She died Thursday evening at
7 o’clock at St. Elizabeth Hospital
in Lafayette where she had
been admitted the day before.
Mrs. Franklin had been ill one
week.
Born September 16, 1913 in
Shelby County, she was the
daughter of Edgar and Grace
Fallis Scott. Her marriage in 1929
was to Gobel Franklin, who survives.
Other survivors are a son,
Gene of Monon; two daughters,
Mrs. Lyle Abbott of Monticello
and Mrs. Wayne Duddy of Rockfield;
her mother, Mrs. Grace
Foist of Columbus; a sister, Mrs.
Gene Bausback of Greensburg;
and a brother, Meilhal Scott of
Phoenix, Arizona. A son preceded
her in death.
