Betty Marie Conner Aasby of Carlton, died at Willamette Valley Medical Center Thursday, March 30, 2006. She was 75.

Born in New York City on March 29, 1930, she was the daughter of George and Dorothy Conner. She graduated from Beaver State College in Lancaster, Pa., with a degree in medical technology.

She married George Aasby on Feb. 12, 1956, in Las Vegas.

Mrs. Aasby worked as a medical technologist for many years.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 173.

She taught herself to sew, and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, canning and cooking from scratch - she made butter, cottage cheese, bread and soap. She also enjoyed spending time with her dear friends, Jackie Mindling and Tom Belt.

She is survived by a son, Larry of McMinnville; two daughters, Sharon Aasby of Yamhill and Carol Ashbrook of Wiggins, Colo.; three sisters, Judy Bowden of Redmond, Gigi Watson of Snohomish, Wash., and Nancy Heinig of Menomee, Wis.; five grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Jerry; and a brother, Dudley Hargreaves.
