Edna Mae Kirkendall, age 74, of New Castle, formerly of Connersville passed away on Wednesday January 24, 2007 at Methodist Hospital. She had lived most of her life in the Connersville area.

Born in Brookville, IN on September 12, 1932, she is the daughter of Josephine Oder Abercrombie of New Castle and the late Clarence Abercrombie.

She had attended Connersville High School and had worked for several years at Ford Electronics and Refrigeration. In her spare time she enjoyed reading, playing bingo and she and her husband enjoyed camping and playing cards.

She is survived by her mother; a grandson, Gary Reatherford of Indianapolis; three brothers, Johnny and his wife Elfriede Abercrombie of Kennard, IN, George Abercrombie of Indianapolis, and Robert Abercrombie of Bowling Green, KY; and a sister and her husband, Annabelle and Elgan Sandlin of Greensboro, IN.

Besides her father, she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Kirkendall, who passed away in 2004; a daughter Jolanna Reatherford; and three brothers, Bradford Lee, James, and Jerry Abercrombie.

Funeral services will be on Saturday January 27, 2007 at Urban Winkler Funeral Home at 10:30 am with Rev. Randy Sherwood officiating. Burial will follow at Dale Cemetery.
