Mrs. Abbott was born Feb. 5, 1874, in Moultrie county, the daughter of William and Mary James. She died Aug. 12 in the Jacksonville hospital. Her husband, Benjamin Abbott, preceded her in death in 1952. She was a member of the Methodist church in Bruce.
Surviving are sons, Nathan of Vincent, Iowa, William, Cadell, and Marion of Webster City, Iowa, James of Eagle Grove, Iowa, Charles of Sullivan, Carl of Lerna, and Earl of Davenport, Iowa; daughters, Mrs. Maude Reedy and Mrs. Pearl Horn of Sullivan; 26 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
