She died at the Bishop Drumm Care Center in Johnston on Sunday, Jan. 12.
Following her husband's death on Nov. 10, 1996, she made her home with her son and daughter-in-law, Dan and Fereleen.
Burial was in Mount Calvary Cemetery at Grand Junction.
Daughter of Arthur Aspinall and Katherine Rooney Aspinall, she was born in Perry on Oct. 6, 1915. She graduated from St. Patrick Catholic High School in Perry. She worked in retail before her marriage to Robert James Acton at St. Patrick Catholic Church on Dec. 30, 1939.
Preceding in death were her parents; her husband of 56 years; one granddaughter, Jill Acton, and one sister, Kathryn Wilson.
Survivors include two daughters, Janis Johnston of Rolling Meadows, Ill., and Mary Acton Glidden; five sons, Mike and David of Cedar Rapids, Danny of Rippey, Tim of Des Moines and Pat of Gladbrook; 18 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one brother, James Aspinall of Newport Richie, Fla.; and one sister, Mary Kuykendall of Little Rock, Ark.
