Roger Leroye “Big Roger” Abfalter, age 71, died Saturday evening January 3, 2015 at his home in Henderson.
Mr. Abfalter was born and reared in Lansing, Michigan, the son of the late John Chris and Charlotte Anna Wicks Abfalter.
He went to school in Lansing and married Linda Peacock in 1962. He owned and operated Christian Drywall. They moved to Henderson in 1971. He enjoyed rebuilding cars, golf, and loving mankind. He was a member of Sanford Hill Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife; Linda Peacock Abfalter, a son Roger J. Abfalter and wife Melissa of Jackson, a daughter Misty Abfalter Jordan and husband Todd of Jackson, two brothers; John Abfalter and Bill Abfalter both of Lansing, MI, a sister Mary Abfalter Allen of Charlotte, MI and four granddaughters; Emily Jordan, Holly Jordan, Julie Jordan, and Lexi Abfalter.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers; Pete Abfalter and Merle Abfalter.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel with Charles Ward officiating. Burial will follow at Chester County Memory Gardens.
The family will received friends at Shackelford – Casey Chapel from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday.
