ABNER, THURMAN KEITH (LUM) - age 60, of Knoxville, passed away Wednesday, April 30, 1997, at U.T. Hospital. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of Sheetmetal Workers Local Union No. 5.

He was preceded in death by parents, Joe and Dicie Abner.

Survived by son, Bobby Eugene Abner; and a daughter, Tammy; five grand children, all of Knoxville; brothers, Bobby Ray Abner of Ten Mile, Tenn.; Eugene Abner of Knoxville; sisters, Gladys Murphy of Ohio, Ellen Kitts, Juanita Beckham and Brenda Burgin of Knoxville, and Barbara Valentine of Maynardville; a host of other relatives and friends. Thurman was well loved and will be greatly missed.

Funeral service 8 p.m. Saturday, Mynatt's Chapel, Rev. Elbert Kitts and Rev. Lester Mullins officiating. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home 1:15 p.m. Sunday and proceed to the Kitts Family Cemetery for interment at 2 p.m. Pallbearers: Joey Valentine, Perry Murphy, Lynn Burgin, Brian Beckham, Ron, Tim and Dan Kitts, Dwain Abner. Honorary pallbearers: grandson, Adam Abner, and remaining nephews. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Mynatt's.
