Obituary: Jefferson City Post Tribune, Wednesday, November 24, 1993

Alpha S. Wright, 92, Eldon, died Sunday at St. Marys Health Center. She was born Feb. 25, 1901, in Brumley, a daughter of Alfred and Cathrine Keeth Abbott. She was married March 13, 1921, in Brumley, to John T. Wright, who died Aug. 2, 1980.

A homemaker, she lived most of her life in Miller County. She was a member of Ninth Street Christian Church, Eldon, and also belonged to the Manning Willing Workers Club. She was active in quilting and craftwork.

Survivors include: five daughters, Aline Currence, Barnett, Glena Mae Ewing, Spring Hill, Kan., Rosalie Bradford, Belton, Leta Grogan Dillon, Mont., and Beverly Cobb, Augusta, Ga.; one son, John T. Wright Jr., Hayward, Calif.; 15 grandchildren, six step-grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren. One infant daughter, Ina Wright, proceded her in death.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Ninth Street Christian Church. The Rev. Donald E. Renken will officiate. Burial will be in Toll Woods Cemetery, Eldon. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon. Memorials are suggested to the Ninth Street Christian Church Building fund.
