The Abberger family immigrated from Germany and reached Baltimore in July, 1833, after applying for permission to sail in March of that year.
After Engelbert's untimely death at the age of six, the remainder of his family, consisting of his father Benedikt F. Abberger, mother Maria Theresa Egger, elder brother Simon Abberger, and younger sister Aquilina O. Abberger appear to have moved almost immediately to Terre Haute, Vigo County, Indiana.
Thanks to Larry G. Britner's research for the additional information on the Abberger family that is contained here.
Aquilina and her brother Simon came over first. Aquilina ended up in Ohio along with her brother Simon.
