Edward Overton Albertson, 91, of 221 Keeter Barn Road, South Mills, NC passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family. Mr. Albertson was the son of the late Charles Lee Albertson and Rosa Lee Sawyer Albertson and the widower of Doris Lee Cartwright Albertson. Overton grew up as a farmer. He joined the United States Coast Guard during World War II serving from 1942 to 1944 and attaining rank of USCG R A Seaman 1st Class. After the war, he returned to farming and went to work at Ford Motor Plant where he retired after thirty years. He loved fox hunting and his dogs. He spent a great deal of time training his Standard Bred horses and racing them up the East Coast from Maryland to New York. He loved being outdoors and at the barn with his assortment of animals. He was a lifetime fan of wrestling.

He is survived by two daughters, Linda Gray and husband, Daniel and Barbara White and husband, Earl; a son, Ronnie Albertson and friend, Ellen Vaughn all of South Mills, NC; daughter-in-law, Sandra Albertson of Shawboro, NC; six grandchildren, Michael, Steven and David Albertson, Buddy Johnson, William Nash, and Teresa Mainello; ten great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Jimmy Albertson and three sisters, Bessie Stafford, Ruth Foster and Marguerite Roach.

A funeral service will be Thursday, February 19, 2015 at Twiford's Memorial Chapel officiated by the Rev. Grace Wood. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
