Clifford Aaby, 83, of Billings, passed away Sunday Jan. 16, 2000, at West Manor in Billings.


He was born July 12, 1916, at Molt, Mont., the son of Anton and Dora Aaby. He attended school in Lakeview School and Molt.


He was proceeded in death by his first wife, Virginia Garner.


Oct. 15, 1948 he married Marie Hahn, in Spokane, Wash. Clifford served in WWII in the U.S. Army from 1940 to 1945.


He is survived by his wife, Marie of Billings; a daughter Sandra and son Clifford James both of Billings; sister Helga Phillips of Green Acres, Wash., and Mildred Roback of Laurel, Doris Tucker of Portland, Ore. and a brother Elwin Aaby of Billings and Dale Aaby of Deer Lodge, and also survived by several nieces and nephews.


Preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Alice Swantz, Ethel Mongoluzzo and Margaret Cox; brothers Maynard and Harry.


Memorial graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 19, at the Joliet Cemetery, Joliet, Mont. A luncheon will be served at the Joliet Christian Church following the service. Memorials to the Boys and Girls Club of Billings and Yellowstone Co., 505 Orchard Lane, Billings, MT 59101. Smith West Chapel in charge of arrangements.
