Betty H. Adams

Betty H. Adams, 87, of Bassett, died Friday, March 6, 2015, at Stanleytown Health Care & Rehab Center, Bassett.

She was born on April 14, 1927, in Patrick County, Va., to J. B. Hodges, Sr. and Annie Sue Ray Hodges. Betty was retired as a Sales Clerk from East Mart and a member of Stone Memorial Christian Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Margaret H. Miles and Crystal Juanita Hodges; and her brother, William R. Hodges.

She is survived by her sisters, Annie Mae Cardwell of Brunswick, Ga., Barbara H. Rea of Ridgeway, Va., Patricia H. Murphy of Spencer, Va., and Nancy Shumate and husband Stanley of Danville, Va.; her brother, J. B. Hodges, Jr. of Fieldale, Va.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, March 9, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at McKee-Stone Funeral Home Chapel, Martinsville with Minister Lawrence Harris officiating. Interment will follow at Critz Baptist Church Cemetery, Critz, Va.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Arrangements are by McKee-Stone Funeral Home.
