Dorothy was born October 12, 1918 in New York, NY. She was one of five children born to the late Jacob and Annie Little Schatz.
She was united in marriage to Lawrence William "Larry" A'Hearn on February 21,1943 in New York. To this union four children were born.
In her younger years, Dorothy worked in the accounting department at Best & Company in New York. The family moved to Lawrence in 1956 and she later worked in retail clothing stores (Janelle’s & Maxy’s) in downtown Lawrence.
She loved her work and enjoyed crossword puzzles, playing bingo, watching tennis & game shows, and making occasional trips to the casino.
Dorothy was a devout Catholic and her faith sustained her throughout her life.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, parents and her siblings.
She is survived by four loving children, Maureen; Colleen (Seth), Laurie and Larry (Roseanne). Nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
