This past Sunday March 8, 2015 our mother Dorothy Rae Baenan Post observed her final day of rest. After a long and courageous battle with asbestos, Dorothy passed away surrounded by her loving family. She is now with the love of her life and soul mate Ernest Eugene Post.

Dorothy was born August 28, 1932 to Ray and Mable in Libby, MT. This is where she met and married the love of her life Ernie on February 10, 1955. They moved to Anaconda where they raised their two daughters Sharon and Deborah.

Her main passion in life was her family. She enjoyed her time spent supporting Ernie in union work from Helena to Washington D.C. after they raised their two daughters. Eventually the two returned to Anaconda where they spent many fun filled years with their grandchildren Erika, Bonnie, and Kelly. The later years were filled with the busy lives of their great grandchildren. Dorothy enjoyed traveling with her family, from fun filled girl’s trips to taking the great grandchildren to Disneyland and she especially relished the most recent family trip to Hawaii where she was able to attend her grandson Kelly’s wedding.

Dorothy spent a great deal of time serving others and the community. She spent numerous years working at Discovery House, volunteering for Project Change, the Food Bank, and Anaconda Catholic Community Luncheon Committee. She was active in Daughters of Isabella, Anaconda Community Hospital Auxiliary, and P.I.T.A. Red Hats.

Dorothy is survived by her two daughters; Sharon (Robert) Skaggs of Billings, Deborah (Donald) Bailey of Crackerville, and her grandchildren Erika (Eric) Hale, Bonnie (Mark) Swanson, and Kelly (Abbee) Skaggs; and three great-grandchildren Mason, Taylor, and Bonnie Kay Hale; her sister Shirley (Clyde) Nichols; sister in laws Vivian Bloom and Annabelle (Dee) Johnson; and special friends Amie Daniels and Kesslynn Trent; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ernie; her parents Ray Baenan and Mable and Ted Ackerman; and her sister Loretta Anderson.

Mass of Celebration of Life Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 13, 2015 at the Holy Family Catholic Church, Anaconda.

Visitation hours will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday evening at the Longfellow-Finnegan-Riddle Funeral Chapel, Anaconda, with a Rosary Service at 6:30 p.m. followed by a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m.
