Toini Dagmar Holem, (nee Kuitunen), 87, of Rock, Michigan and Kenosha, Wisconsin, died on Friday, November 7, 1997 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Elliott Engberg of Kenosha, following a brief illness.
Toini was born August 23, 1910 in Tampari, Finland, and lived in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan as a small child until age 17, when she moved to Waukegan, Illinois.
She met William "Babe" Holem and they were married on December 7, 1935. She retired to cattle ranching in Rock, Michigan in 1968, where she has remained until recently.
Survivors include one son; one daughter; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband Babe Holem, June of 1977.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 10, 1997 at 7:00 p.m. at CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion with Rev. Jim Niederloh of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Kenosha, officiating. Interment will take place on Tuesday at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion.
