MARILYN AGNES ABBOTT

MONTICELLO — Marilyn Agnes Abbott, 52, 959 Bruce Ave., died at 3:30 a.m. Thursday in her residence. She had been in ill health three years.

She was born June 12, 1933, in Milwaukee, Wis., to Hugo and Agnes Schmidt Rubner. She was married Sept. 7, 1957, in Indianapolis, to Dr. Louis A. Abbott, who survives.

She was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church, and the Altar and Rosary Sodality of the church. She was active in many local, state and national historical and genealogical societies. She was the first director of the White County Museum and was the first state-appointed White County historian. She was a 1955 graduate of Mount Mary College, Wis.

Also surviving are two daughters, Lori Snowberger, Monticello, and Jane M. Abbott, at home; a son, Michael A. Abbott, at-home; a brother, David Rubner, New Lenox, Ill.; a sister, Kathleen Chitty, Burke, Va.; and two grandchildren.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church, with the Rev. James Goodrum officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Monticello.

Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. today in Miller-Voorhis Funeral Home, where the rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the White County Historical Society or the White County Genealogical Society.
