Carol was born April 16, 1950, and spent her first few years in Dallas, Texas. She moved with her parents to a farm just outside of Farmersville, Texas, where they lived until after her first grade of school.
Then as a young girl, her family moved McPherson, where she attended school and graduated high school. She attended Kansas State University, worked at the McPherson county Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service office, and co-owned a successful photography business with her husband.
Carol and Steve Forster were united marriage Nov. 26, 1971, in Lindsborg.
Carol is survived by her husband Steve Forster of Allen, Texas; son Wade Forster of Las Vegas, Nevada; daughter Lindsay Lamb, her husband David and daughters, Emma and Ella, all of Allen, Texas; brothers Douglas Abell and his wife Sheri of Las Vegas, Nevada; and Gary Abell and his wife Sheri of McPherson; nieces Dayna Karas and husband Scott and children Morgan and Parker; Karley Clark and husband Andrew and children Joey, Ava, and Elaina; nephews Darrell Abell, Preston Abell and Clayton Abell; and Kathy Johnson-O’Gorman, and many cousins and friends.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Billy and Lucille Abell of McPherson.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandma “mimi,” sister and friend. We will miss our “Mimi” more than words can express.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 11, 2015, at the First United Methodist Church, 3160 E. Spring Creek Parkway, Plano, TX. 75074.
There will also be a graveside burial service at 11 a.m on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at New Gottland Lutheran Church, followed by a service at New Gottland Covenant Church, 1700 Pawnee Rd, McPherson, KS 67460.
Memorials are can be made in honor of Carol to: First United Methodist Church, Plano, Texas; New Gottland Covenant Church, McPherson; and The COPD Foundation, 3300 Ponce de Leon Boulevard, Miami, FL, 33134.
