West Liberty--Mrs. John Riggins, aged 38 years, died Monday at her home in Capitan, Mexico, following a lingering illness of more than two years with tuberculosis. Surviving are her husband and a five-year-old daughter, Dorothy Marie, besides her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Abbott of West Liberty.
A sister, Mrs. Mae Smith, left for Capitan a week ago and was assisting in caring for her sister during the last five days of her illness. Funeral services were held Tuesday and burial was made in Capitan.
Mrs. Riggins will be remembered as Amy Abbott, who formerly made her home in West Libety where she received her early nurse's training in the Bellevue hospital in Muscatine, where she spent three years, after which she was prominent in her profession.
